I liked this book but it is not a course in photography.

No single book is going to be the equivalent of a complete curriculum in photography. That said, this book is nicely laid out and has some good explanations and accompanying images to make its message known. I checked many books on photography out of the local library, and this is the only one that I was motivated to purchase new.
